Ginger Kelly
Ginger Kelly started blowing glass in the mid 80’s while studying design at CSU Chico. “They had a glass blowing department and I got hooked”. Born and raised in Northern California, Ginger moved with her family to Seattle in 1988. There she continued to study and work with glass as an art material. Maintaining a studio, teaching and designing a line of glassware. Her work can be seen in galleries across the U.S. and in select department stores.
In addition her glasswork, Ginger has successfully designed a grouping of jewelry,
incorporating glass and sterling silver jewelry. “ I enjoy the more intimate scale of jewelry and I can solve a different set of problems”.
After almost 20 years in Seattle and many achievements, Ginger relocated to Louisiana in the spring of ’05. Settling across the lake from New Orleans, setting up a studio and getting to work. “The South has been a new inspiration and challenge to me in a positive way”. Ginger shows her work in local galleries in New Orleans and Lafayette. Has been part of Jazz Fest for the past 3 years.
